Compact Deodorant for BackpackingSubmitted by Anonymous.
"Nivea compact deodorant - small, light, smells better than you do." Some words from the tipster:
Somebody showed me this stuff a while ago, and I've been using it regularly in
the outdoors ever since. It isn't aimed at the outdoor crowd -
I've only ever seen it in supermarkets in the usual place for deodorants.
However it's brilliant for taking with you when you are away from civilisation.
The "bottle" is tiny, it weighs about 35 grams when full, and if you are sparing with it, it can last for about 2 weeks. It's also non-aerosol (it's a bit like a perfume sprayer/atomiser) so you can convince yourself you are being kind to the environment. It comes in at least two flavours, one in a white bottle and one in the blue bottle that I've attached a picture of. It's more expensive than the larger, "normal" alternatives, and I don't find it as effective, either. However, it is adequate. [Ray Gears speaks: "We have checked this out and since the product in question seems fairly unique and useful, for a "mainstream" product, we are willing to mention specific brand names. Our first priority is to pass on information that fellow outdoor people might find useful. However, there are other options and ideas for lightweight underarm deodorants! I suggest you use an internet search engine and search for something like "natural underarm deodorant" where you might find all sorts of interesting and useful things. I did! And I was excited. But I knew it all anyway, of course."] [The Editor speaks: "Stuff and nonsense! Back when I was alive, we used to wash our pits with sulphuric acid. You probably think I am joking. Idiots!"] If you have, err ... odour issues, perhaps you'd better talk the matter over with someone. We have the entire online community to help you, if only they will come here. If you can't be bothered to enter the forums, then shame on you! But you can still leave a comment below. Please try to avoid the profane ramblings of a madman. That's our job. |
