Room 101: The MultiFoolSubmitted by An Outdoor Idiots Team Member. Room 101: The MultiFoolAt some point we will be putting multitools through the Room 101 treatment, because some people clearly don't like them. However, there are multitools and there are multitools. Recently (i.e. about a year ago), the TatMaster alerted us to the presence of this contraption: ![]() He found it on ebay (where else?) from a seller in Hong Kong (where else?). Thankfully, we can no longer see any sign of it on ebay. But, while that is a relief in terms of general public safety, it is also in some ways unfortunate. It means we can't provide a link to it and show you the true horror of how the above monstrosity was supposed to work. Let's just say that the whole axe thing did pop out of the handles, so that you could turn it around to use the pliers instead. Fear not, though, you could render the axe perfectly safe by sticking rubber over it. Terrifyingly, this is not the only multifool in existence. There are other similarly disturbing offerings currently cropping up on ebay... ![]() ...and it seems that some of them have already made their way to our shores. Judgement DayWe find ourselves lost for words. We also find ourselves wanting one. Not to use it, of course. Rather, we want one so that we can put it in a safe display somewhere, behind lock and key. We would be gaining an inexplicable conversation piece; a mouse scissor radio with unnecessary danger built-in. At the same time we'd also be providing a public service by taking one of these things out of circulation.
Do your bit for public safety by signing a petition or something. Or say something in our forums, here. If you can't be bothered to enter the forums, then shame on you! But you can still leave a comment below. Please try to avoid the profane ramblings of a madman. That's our job.
